The firm was established in 1953 by David
Kelman. David was a graduate of Wayne State University,
and was well-known for his integrity and commitment to the
accounting profession. After serving his country in WWII in
England, he returned to the United States to complete his
degree in accounting and graduated from Wayne State University
in 1950. His first few years of accounting were with the firm
of Sharon Gallec.
In 1953, David formed his own company and moved to 6 Mile
Road. The company was called David Kelman & Co. Today,
50+ years later, that company is still in existence, having
changed its name several times, but maintaining the original
principals.
David Kelman died in 1972, but his presence and influence
still remains among his clients, employees and shareholders
of the firm. David Kelman was an accountant known for his
compassion and kindness towards his clients and to their
tax and accounting problems. He would constantly extend
himself on their behalf, working long hours to provide quality, accurate
and prompt service. This attitude is still the major focus of today's firm.
During the early sixties, the firm merged with Bernard
Mintz and they moved to a new location on 8 Mile
Road. During this period, Edward Rosenbaum married David
Kelman's daughter. At the time Edward was working for Paul
Kelman, a cousin of David Kelman.
Eventually the two firms merged, becoming known as Kelman,
Rosenbaum, Levitsky & Rollins, bringing together
the two cousins, the son-in-law and two other partners of
the Mintz firm.
After the retirement of Manuel Levitsky and the death
of Paul Kelman, the firm changed its name to Rosenbaum, Rollins & Associates, P.C. The name of the firm
has subsequently been changed to Rosenbaum, Rollins & Olah, P.C.
In 2002, two new shareholders joined the firm, Dawn
M. Reeves and James R. Olah.
From its earliest beginnings to the current period, the
firm has specialized in providing accounting services to medical practices. The practice
has grown steadily over the years and is known for the high quality and ethical services it
provides. |
